The GS4C vision is based on few principles of sustainable development. All GS4C projects have been designed to comply with these principles, and the strategic partners selected among companies sharing the vision for sustainable development and Circular Economy. GS4C is working along with these partners to create a complete value chain where everythin is either re-used or recycled back into virgin material to be re-entered in the manufacturing value chain.

Circular Economy

The circular economy is a generic term for an industrial economy that is producing no waste and pollution, by design or intention, and in which material flows are of two types, biological nutrients, designed to reenter the biosphere safely, and technical nutrients, which are designed to circulate at high quality in the production system without entering the biosphere as well as being restorative and regenerative by design.

Zero Landfill

Zero Landfill can be viewed as one of the major elements of Zero Waste, being aimed at complete landfill diversion of solid wastes generated.

Design for Disassembling

Designing for disassembly has several benefits. It can make it easier for your product to be repaired or upgraded, thereby prolonging its useful life. It can also help ensure your product is recycled and enable whole components to be reused. In fact, the degree to which your product can be disassembled easily often determines how the product will end its life.

Cradle to Cradle

In the cradle to cradle model, all materials used in industrial or commercial processes—such as metals, fibers, dyes—fall into one of two categories: "technical" or "biological" nutrients. Technical nutrients are strictly limited to non-toxic, non-harmful synthetic materials that have no negative effects on the natural environment; they can be used in continuous cycles as the same product without losing their integrity or quality. In this manner these materials can be used over and over again instead of being "downcycled" into lesser products, ultimately becoming waste.
