Needle punch felts are manufactured from dry fabric cuttings and leftover from fabric production. The composite industry has an unresolved problem with manufcaturing waste and this product gives a second life to the scraps produced throughout the manufacturing process. Specifically, this is a felt with very high thermal insulation properties and could be reproposed to the market at very interesting price. GS4C did an evaluation of the economical impact of waste recovering/transformation/resale on wind blade manufacturing with very interesting results. The felt can be formed with differendt thickness and density according to specifications.
